Smartantivirus 2009 is smarter than you think, but only to their advantage. This program is a rogue antispyware program that is designed to convince you that it will remove your computer problems but will infect you with problems instead. This is the new trend in malware, or malicious software. Programmers, or scam artists in general, are aware that fear drives most of what we do as people on a daily basis.
Just like car mechanics will scare you into so many different treatments that your car does not need, these programs will scare you into checking for problems. However, at least the car mechanics will, most of the time, not leave your car worse off than when you came in. When you come into contact with these malwares, they will come to you and scare you into believing that your computer has a problem and that they are the solution.
It will all start off with a free scan that they offer you. Once you click ok to their free scan, you give them access to download onto your hard drive. You will think that they are scanning for problems but they are actually downloading their malicious software onto your computer for their own purposes. Eventually, they will offer a full version of their program that you can pay for to remove any of the fake malware that they have come up with on their scan. But, even if you don't buy their full program you have already been infected.
These programs try so hard to get you to believe that they are legitimate to gain access to your system. This one can even create pop ups that show findings of damaging programs. The problem here is that your actual system is trying to show you pop ups to alert you that the smartantivirus2009 is dangerous, but you wont see it because so many of the system alerts are from the smartantivirus2009 itself in order to camouflage the real alerts from you.
So what do the malware creators get in return for their tricky programs? They can get any kind of information that already exists on your computer, but they can also keep a log of your keystrokes in order to use your credit card illegally or make any kind of illegal uses of your confidential information. They are not just messing up your computer for fun; they are getting benefits from this.
And although your computer seemed to be running fine before you did the smartantivirus2009 scan, it will run worse when the malware is done with it. Your computer will slow down, and pop up ads will be very apparent.
So, now you really have a problem. No more trusting unknown names on the internet, no matter how trustworthy they appear to be. Go with a trusted name, with experience in order to get rid of the actual malware you are now stuck with.
